Conference Care go the distance for Zoe's Place Baby Hospice

Conference Care put their best foot forward running the Decathlon Coventry Half Marathon for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry. On Sunday 23rd March Sophie Blackmore, Jade Smith, Jason Wilson, Melanie Yeoman and Kerstyn Zeslawski determinedly put on a big smile and bright yellow t-shirts to tackle the 13.1 miles in and around Coventry.

The venue finding and event management agency have always played an active role in supporting charity, having previously raised significant funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice, Sport Relief, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and RNLI to name a few. Chris Peacock, Director, said ‘We are conscious that being socially responsible does not stop at being 'green', but extends to every area of the business - making a positive impact as a company in all our activities is part of this commitment.’

Conference Care chose Zoe’s Place Coventry in 2013 as their nominated charity and have been raising funds in an ongoing campaign ever since. The hospice provides respite, palliative, and end of life care to families and their children aged 0-5 who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, has recently been in the spotlight following a visit from Gary Barlow as part of BBC’s Children In Need.

The efforts of the team on the day raised almost £1,300.00 for the charity, which will provide hours of high quality, 1 to 1 nursing care for local babies and infants with complex medical conditions.

Michael McCann, Fundraising Manager, said ‘The Coventry Half Marathon was the most successful event ever for Zoë's Place Baby Hospice in Coventry. As the “Official” charity of the event we had over 300 people running, jogging and walking the 13.1 mile route and we are particularly delighted with the support given by our loyal supporters, Conference Care. The ongoing generosity of the everyone at Conference Care is greatly appreciated by us all and will help us in our objective of providing care every minute of every day, meeting the needs of more families more often.’
