Three new members for The Global Travel Group

The Global Travel Group continues to go from strength to strength following the announcement that three new members have joined the consortium in January 2014. New retail shop Christie’s Travel in Darlington have been welcomed into the fold, hoping that ‘peak season’ buoys their entrance into the market. In addition, office based agency Jaunt Travel in Doncaster have also signed up, looking to focus on Florida and Walt Disney World Resorts whilst Worldwide Express Travel Ltd in London intend to concentrate on the long haul travel market.

The three new additions lend weight to The Global Travel Group’s aggressive growth targets, with a membership roll currently sitting at over 350 agents across the UK.

The Global Travel Group’s Managing Director, Andy Stark commented: “With the addition of Christie’s, Jaunt Travel and Worldwide Express Travel Ltd to our ever growing flock, 2014 couldn’t have got off to a better start. And with more than a few potential members in the pipeline and our annual conference less than two months away we’re confident that many more will take the plunge and look forward to welcoming them with open arms.”

Jaunt Travel Owner Julie Morris commented: "We are thrilled to be one of The Global Travel Group’s newest members. We very much believe in what they stand for and in the fact that they provide the right level marketing support, training and guidance. We have every confidence that our signing marks the beginning of what is likely to be a very successful and lucrative partnership.”

The new business success follows the appointment of Joanne Briggs who joined The Global Travel Group as sales and business development manager for the south region in late 2013.

The Global Travel Group will hold their 21st annual conference from 23 – 25 March 2014 near Chester, UK with producer-songwriter Pete Waterman OBE and entrepreneurial chef Levi Roots confirmed as guest speakers.

Since its inception in 1992, The Global Travel Group has trained over 2000 travel professionals and continues to set the industry standard for travel agent support.
