Retail Trust welcomes over 500 retailers to Annual Ball organised by Evolve Events

Retail Trust Annual Ball
Last night, 27th January, saw Retail Trust, the charity for people working in retail, welcome over 500 retailers to its annual London Ball at Grosvenor House, organised by Evolve Events.
Companies such as American Express, Debenhams, Deloitte, Burberry and The Walt Disney Company were among guests at Retail Trust’s fundraising gala. Attendees included Harold Tillman CBE, Sir Stuart Rose, Sir Philip Green, and Jamie and Louise Redknapp. The evening was hosted by Anton Du Beke from Strictly Come Dancing, and Edward Rising, auctioneer from Sotheby’s, with a total of over £1,000,000 raised for the charity on the night.

Evolve Events was tasked with bringing all the sights, sounds and atmosphere of a carnival to Grosvenor House. The theme was brought to life through a vibrant colour scheme of turquoise, yellow, fuchsia and orange hues, whilst the tables were decorated with centrepieces featuring pink and orange ostrich feathers and branded carnival masks. Guests were greeted by carnival performers on arrival, and comedian and rapper Abandoman and Gilev Showband later performed on stage.

To ensure all guests had a chance to donate, there were a number of fundraising opportunities throughout the night, including vibrant Tombola trees, created by Evolve Events, from which hung bright envelopes containing star prizes, along with a silent auction, pledge bids, and five exclusive items for the main auction. Each table had interactive tablets for digital bids and donations, and there were free standing pods installed throughout the room for guests to use for bidding.

Gary Peters, managing director, Evolve Events, commented: “We wanted to ensure that guests had every opportunity to give to the cause and it’s fantastic to see that the fundraising target was met. The carnival theme allowed us to create stunning visual elements throughout The Great Room, making for a vibrant evening which truly celebrated the work of Retail Trust.”
