Mixed feelings for Aesthetics Events boss

Coventry City’s FA Cup trip to Arsenal has caused mixed feelings for one city-based business owner.
Lee Thomas, who runs events staffing agency Aesthetics Events from a base at Electric Wharf in the city, is a lifelong Sky Blues supporter.
But her firm also supplies more than 75 staff in a variety of roles to work in the corporate areas at the Emirates on matchdays.

Aesthetics landed the contract with the Gunners five years ago and, thanks to the quality of customer service provided by its staff – from hosts and hostesses to restaurant managers – has been retained by the club ever since.

Lee said: “Of course, I’d love to see Coventry City progress in the competition but I know they are facing a really tough task away at the Emirates.

“I had a feeling when the draw was made that they might get drawn together again after last season’s game in the Capital One Cup.

“I am unable to get to the game on the evening as I will on business in the States but I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the occasion like any other fan because I would be making sure that everything was running smoothly off the pitch rather than on it.

“Thankfully, I have such a great team working on the Arsenal contract that I know they provide the very best service – anything less than that just wouldn’t be acceptable.

“Like everyone in Coventry, I am really impressed with the job that manager Steven Pressley has done so far but I know from seeing Arsenal through business what a tough ask it will be to expect them to upset them. That said, I am confident they will give a good account of themselves.”

Thomas founded Aesthetics in 1996 after several years working in the events industry as a senior event manager.

She spotted a gap in the market and now has more than 8,000 staff on Aesthetics’ books that cover events around the world for clients such as Premier League football clubs, IT, banking and major automotive brands.
