For this keynote session, Heappey will be joined by an expert panel chosen from across the UK MICE sector, including: Nick Gold, Managing Director, Speakers Corner; Jonathan Read, Commercial Director, Tobacco Dock; and Adam Sternberg, Director, Sternberg Clarke. Colin Stanbridge, Chief Executive, London Chamber of Commerce, will also be participating to offer a wider business perspective in relation to the current economic climate.
Moderated by Triggerfish Communications’ Henry Rubinstein, the debate will address the immediate effect of Brexit and suggest suitable solutions, but also offer potential long-term strategies to meet market forces.
Importantly, this session will steer away from retrospective analysis and offer qualified predictions of what the socio-economic landscape could look like, and how the event industry can both capitalise on opportunity or soften a financial blow.
The session underlines the broad reach and appeal of the conference programme; from everyday practical advice to industry leading thought leadership. Last month, Alex Polizzi, the Hotel Inspector was announced as the first keynote speaker at the event, as well as the involvement of brands and agencies including Innocent, PlayStation, Macmillan Cancer Research, L’Oreal, TRO, GPJ, DRP and The Fair.
“We’re delighted to be welcoming James back to International Confex, and are really interested in hearing his thoughts on the industry as we enter 2017,” commented Liz Agostini, Event Director, International Confex. “He has been a big supporter of the show in the past and reflects a growing understanding between the industry and government, it will be interesting to see how this relationship is progressing.”
International Confex takes place 1st and 2nd March at Olympia London, and will see the biggest global gathering of event professionals in the UK.
