Fast Forward 15’s future leaders Mentees share successes and aspirations

Fay Sharpe founder of the programme and VP of BCD M&E
Fast Forward 15 - the programme designed to encourage, coach and up-skill female talent in the hospitality sector - celebrated the successes of its year 2 intake at a recent mentoring day. The event was devised by Fay Sharpe and led by award winning executive coach Ishreen Bradley who helped participants to define their unique personal brand and assets.

With four months to go before their official graduation, the mentees also shared their personal and business accomplishments under the tutorage of their mentors.

The mentees also launch their charity initiative. The task, part of the Fast Forward 15 programme, is designed to stimulate collaborative team work and raise funds for charity. Mentees are given no financial support to create the fundraiser and are required to budget and plan for the event, and where possible, utilise their industry contacts. 2017’s event will take place on March 27th at the Victorian Bathhouse and will take the form of an exclusive screening: "Monday Night Movie Night with Mary".

The mentoring day event was sponsored by Green & Fortune and drew mentees from many of the UK’s leading organisations including: Linklaters, Pernod Ricard, Informa, M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment and Reading Football Club.

Victoria Mayhook, Camm and Hooper said, ‘Fast Forward Fifteen has had a significant personal impact with me achieving goals and widening my knowledge. The programme really does enrich and enable those who gain a place. Not only has it helped me from a personal perspective but at work I’ve increased confidence in my skills and abilities.’

Antonia Jewels, PAREXEL MMS Europe, added ‘Defining our personal brand has been another invaluable exercise that the Fast Forward 15 programme has afforded me.  Ishreen, Fay and my mentor have all helped me recognise what I bring and how it can help benefit and organisation.  This year has been really helped me define my strengths and competencies’.

Fay Sharpe founder of the programme and VP of BCD M&E said, ‘When I created this programme I wanted to help our future talent. From this recent meetings it’s very clear that not only has the structured mentoring helped but it has also widened networks and created some very solid bonds. This year’s mentees are all are future leaders and I’m delighted to say the hospitality sector has some very strong contenders for the boardroom.’

Applications for the 2017 iteration of Fast Forward 15 are open (www.fastforward15.co.uk/) and close on Tuesday 28th February.
