ACC Liverpool adopts industry eGuide

ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, has become the latest venue to adopt the industry recognised eGuide.
The guidance document, created by members of the Association of Event Venues (AEV), aims to provide consistent standards for health, safety and operations at UK exhibitions and conference venues.
ACC Liverpool joins other UK venues in adopting the regulating policy including Excel London, The NEC Group and Manchester Central.

Tom Lechthaler, head of events at ACC Liverpool, said: “We are constantly reviewing how to improve customer experience and adopting the eGuide will provide our clients with useful information and guidance on health, safety, operational planning, management and on-site conduct.

“Whilst the eGuide forms a basis of industry recognised regulations, our advice to each client will be tailored to suit the size of event – from smaller, more straight-forward events to the larger, complex ones.  Every unique requirement will be taken into consideration.

“The eGuide, which replaces our compliance handbook, will allow us to assist clients to deliver their events safely and efficiently as part of our ongoing commitment to enhance customer service.”

Chloe Batchelor, ACC Liverpool’s health and safety manager, is part of the eGuide’s working group which ensures it is regularly updated and as comprehensive as possible.  It covers 50 areas including build-up and break-down, electrical installations, rigging and stand construction.

She said: “As the eGuide is an evolving tool, our clients can be assured that it will be constantly reviewed and updated to include legislative changes and to identify industry trends.”

Lee Holloway, AEV’s technical advisor, added: “It’s great to have ACC Liverpool on board, Chloe has already contributed a huge amount of enthusiasm and energy to the committee.”
