Sail Royal Greenwich organiser joins hands with Connecting Venues
The Nautical Events Bureau (NEB), famous for Sail Amsterdam and the Volvo Ocean Race, has teamed up with Connecting Venues as its booking agent in the UK for the upcoming Sail Royal Greenwich. On Wednesday the 25th of July, an entire fleet of 16 Tall Ships - accompanied by smaller boats - will arrive through the ports of London for a spectacular parade.
Sail Royal Greenwich offers corporate clients the opportunity to entertain guests aboard a beautiful Tall Ship, showcasing the best of what London has to offer during the entire period of the Olympic Games. On board, guests will enjoy a truly exquisite culinary experience, overseen by Michelin chefs Richard Corrigan (UK) and Ron Blaauw (NL).
Connecting Venues, a Dutch/ English event management company, are a London based company which has rapidly built up a good reputation and network.
“For us this is a great opportunity to work together on such an amazing event”, says Denise Zijlstra, Managing Director at Connecting Venues. “We expect that during the Olympic Games, 700,000 people will visit the capital and they will be looking for additional events to add to their Olympic visit.”
NEB’s sister event, Sail Amsterdam, is considered to be one of the most spectacular maritime events in Holland. Sail Amsterdam hosted more than 1.7 million visitors in 2010 and Sail Royal Greenwich will emulate this on a smaller scale in London.. “Taking into account the Olympics, we think it’s a great opportunity for corporates to entertain their clients in larger numbers with the Olympics as its backdrop” says SRG director Paulus Mooyman. All ships vary in size and type from loggers to three-masted schooners. Private groups, ranging from 20 to 130 guests, can be accommodated on the outside deck and below decks.
Both organisations are convinced that Sail Royal Greenwich will give London even more shine during the Games.
