Summer picnic invites CSR-minded businesses to check out Greenspace

State of the art sustainable conference centre 'Greenspace' launches in Leeds this month, inviting businesses from across the country to a VIP summer picnic, showcasing the venue as an inspiring alternative for eco-minded companies with CSR in mind, to create corporate events with a difference whilst reducing their carbon footprint.
The events venue, Greenspace, created by award-winning sustainable developer Citu, can facilitate events for up to 100 delegates ranging from corporate conferences and business seminars, to networking lunches and charity dinners, and businesses offering an innovative approach to sustainability for business.

The sustainable venue is opening its doors to businesses and event planners on July 28th from 2pm-5pm with a Summer Events Picnic that will allow guests to enjoy networking, sample catering from the onsite deli and be entertained by unique Britain's Got Talent Entry Dazl Diamonds, a local all boys cheerleading group.

Event guests will also be offered a behind the scenes tour of the development to discover what sets it apart from other eco-buildings and why it has won 25 awards since launching at the end of last year.

Greenspace is the latest addition to Greenhouse – an award-winning mixed use development dubbed the UK's most pioneering low carbon development, providing holding capacity from 10 to 100, and state-of-the-art technology, including a 10ft projection screen, video conferencing and the fastest internet in Leeds.

Located close to Leeds City Centre and the motorways, delegates can also make use of free on site parking, a twelve seater board room, 2 break out areas and on-site catering with locally sourced produce, and fruit and vegetables grown onsite at the Greenhouse allotments.

A range of luxury 1, 2 and 3 double bed boutique style apartments are available in the recently opened Greenhouse Apart-Hotel with luxury sustainably facilities, including an IPTV in each room to measure energy usage, providing convenient and eco accommodation after long conferences or late night meets.

Yorkshire Water have already experienced Greenspace after holding a conference there last month. Simon Barnes, Manager of Innovation and Delivery at Yorkshire Water, said: “I enjoyed using Greenspace as it gave a different feel in terms of the space available, but more importantly the building's overall carbon reduction and the novel processes being used on so many fronts from the heat exchanger to the real time monitoring of consumption really impressed us.”

Home to the UK's most sustainable office space, Greenhouse is fast becoming a dynamic business hub in the city, offering so much more than the average business conferencing facilities and accommodation.

Citu Marketing Director Fraser Stride said: “Greenspace is a really exciting alternative for businesses who want to create an event with a difference, that's bound to get people talking about it for all the right reasons. The top spec facilities and onsite catering, mean we can tailor events and functions to suit any business, and we hope the personal touches, such as the Greenhouse tour, are a welcoming and exciting addition for delegates.

“We're looking forward to welcoming businesses from across the UK into Greenspace to make full use of the sustainable facilities and discover a new way to reduce their carbon footprint.”

Leeds-based PR, Marketing & Events agency Chocolate PR have been appointed to manage events at Greenspace and have invited event planners and representatives from the region's most successful companies to try out Greenhouse's latest offering to the business community.

Jamila Juma-Ware, Senior Account Manager at Chocolate PR, said: “We've already received overwhelming feedback by businesses who have used Greenspace and quite literally been bowled over by the sustainable features and community lifestyle that the Citu team has created. The VIP summer picnic is an opportunity for companies to see for themselves why this development is multi-award winning and hopefully raise a heightened awareness of CSR."
