Sabre calls global app providers to compete for first Sabre Red Appy award

Sabre Travel Network, a global travel technology company serving travel suppliers and agencies, is calling app developers from around the world to compete in the first Sabre Red Appy award programme.
Startup, emerging and established companies are invited to apply and submit their most creative and effective Red App concepts. From these initial applications, 10 Red App developers and concepts will be selected as finalists to compete for the Sabre Red Appy.

During the Sabre Developers’ Conference held June 5-7 in Las Vegas, the finalists will have an opportunity to pitch their application to a panel of judges and travel buyers attending Sabre’s Technology and Marketing University (TMU). The winners will be announced at the Sabre Red Appys awards event on June 7 before a combined audience of developers and travel buyers attending the Developer Conference and TMU.

The winner of the Best Red App category will receive the Sabre Red Appy award along with a $10,000 cash prize. Sabre will award a first runner-up prize of $2500 and will award an Environmental Impact prize, which will include a $2500 donation made in the winner’s name, to the eco-charity of their choice.

Each finalist will receive demonstration space at the Sabre Technology and Marketing University event where more than 350 travel buyers will convene to explore best practices, discover new marketing techniques, conquer the latest technology trends, and tap into the collective insight of industry leaders.

“We’ve had a tremendous response from developers who are interested in leveraging the Red App Centre to get their apps in front of a highly targeted and valuable audience – Sabre-connected travel buyers,” said Chris Kroeger, senior vice president – marketing for Sabre Travel Network. “With more than a 1,000 app downloads and a tripling of developer applications, we are very pleased with the momentum we are building for the Red App Centre.”
