Business travellers app-ply themselves to new smartphone technology
Leading corporate travel management and events business, the ATPI Group, is giving clients the ability to access full details of their itineraries, plus a raft of handy tools, via mobile technology with its new ‘On the Go’ smartphone app.The new app is now available free for ATPI Group customers via iPhone, Android and Blackberry worldwide from the respective app stores - iTunes, Google Play, and Blackberry App World.
As the first phase of smart phone technology, the app will be updated and further enhanced at a later date, based on the feedback and genuine needs of business travellers.
ATPI Group CEO Graham Ramsey commented: “The vast majority of corporate travellers now organise themselves with hand-held devices and the ATPI On the Go app is a really functional aid for our customers. We set out to make the interface as straightforward as possible, because all of our feedback has shown a desire to have information presented in a clean and simple way and to avoid any flashy gimmicks. Meeting the real needs of business travellers is our absolute priority.”
Included in the app’s features is a password protected mobile wallet which allows recording of useful data such as passport information and frequent flyer numbers in an easily indexed way. An itinerary display application gives users access to all flight bookings in their name held on the ATPI Group’s systems, while a flight status report allows users to track progress of any flight number – either arrival or departure.
iPhone users can add a photo of travel documents such as passports or cards to the app safe in the knowledge that this data is stored on the phone with an extra security layer providing protection in case the phone is lost or stolen.
Additional features include a currency converter, world clock and details of all ATPI Group office locations and telephone numbers worldwide. A separate destination guide section offers handy tips on where to go and what to see in cities around the globe.
A simple flight search providing information on schedules and availability has also been included on a trial basis and will be upgraded to offer full booking functionality should customers demand it.
Reflecting the multinational nature of the ATPI Group business, the ‘On the Go’ app is available to download globally.
