Professional Convention Management Association partners with Poken Event Management Software for Canadian Innovation Conference

Poken Smart Badge in action
The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has partnered with Poken, the 360º event platform, to deliver its smart event technologies to the Canadian Innovation Conference in Newfoundland, 20-22 November 2016.
The PCMA has selected Poken as its preferred solution for seamless event management, which will be showcased at the conference where meeting planners from across Canada come together to identify innovative solutions that will transform the way they design meetings and events.

Attendees will first encounter Poken before even arriving at the event, when they create their networking and business match-making profile as part of Poken’s automated online registration process. On site, attendees will receive a smart badge equipped with a Poken interactive USB stick, which will enable them to network with other attendees and swap virtual business cards, collect digital collateral from exhibitors, as well as check into meetings and collect notes from digital touchpoints posted in break-out sessions.

Participants will be able to access all the contacts they have made, as well as the collateral they collected from exhibitors and speakers. Post-conference, exhibitors will access a rich lead-generation report in Poken’s Exhibitor Tools, allowing them to gain insights into the new contacts made at the event.

Chuck E. Schouwerwou, President of the PCMA Canada East Chapter says: “I am very excited that Poken has come on board as a technology sponsor of the 2016 PCMACE Canadian Innovation Conference in St. John’s, NL on November 20 – 22th.  Our conference is very much about showcasing new technologies to help planners take their conferences to the next level and I am excited at the chance to see Poken live and how it might do that.”

Emmanuelle Dany, VP Event Management at TCI-Poken Canada, comments: “Technology is one of the fastest growing sectors within the meetings and events industry, so it can be a complex process for event organisers who want to gain a holistic understanding of what’s on offer. We constantly innovate to create seamless ways for attendees and organisers to maximise their return out of the events they attend. By making sure that we understand end-user needs, Poken is able to develop technologies that empower not only the attendees, but also the organiser. We’re delighted to showcase how Poken can provide a completely integrated solution at events to the PCMA community.”
