In the words of Calpe’s Tourism Council, Mr. Jan Van Parijs: “We thank GSAR Marketing for the excellent organization of the fair and for the opportunity they gave us to show to a select group of buyers from 24 countries, all the MICE offer that Calpe and the Costa Blanca have”.
The participants came from: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, UK and Ukraine.
During the two intense working days 2.795 business meetings were completed, generating an estimated medium and long term business of more than €63.000.000.
Besides this, the participants had the opportunity to attend 3 seminar-presentations. The first one co-presented by Calpe's Tourist Board, the Costa Blanca's Tourist Board and the AR Diamante Beach Hotel, presenting the vast global offer they possess as a MICE destination. The second one was presented by Argentina's Secretary of Tourism, INPROTUR, a constantly evolving destination in the MICE sector of Latin America. The third presentation was done by EasyonPAD, a technology company which specializes in tablet based solutions, staying connected through 3G/4G for Smart Congress and Smart Events, improving the venue's connectivity and bringing new levels of interaction throughout each event.
The program of this MITM Euromed edition was completed with a wonderful networking program and post-tours. The welcome reception was sponsored by Gran Hotel Sol y Mar in its beautiful Beach Club, preceded by a traditional “Moros y Cristianos” parade, a unique cultural festivity of the Levante. The closing dinner was sponsored by SH Ifach Hotel with a fabulous folkloric dance. The excellent post-tours were run by Costa Blanca’s Tourism Board and the City Halls of Alicante, Elche, Calpe, Benidorm and the Generalitat Valenciana.
