Take away your own piece of Scotland at The Meetings Show 2016

VisitScotland will be pulling out all of the stops for The Meetings Show with its largest ever stand presence and a packed programme of on-stand activity.  Showcasing Scotland’s Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design in 2016 – VisitScotland will have renowned Edinburgh Sketcher Mark Kirkham on stand as the main draw at this year’s event from 14-16 June, inviting visitors to work with him to create and take away their own unique piece of Scottish Architectural Design featuring landmarks such as Edinburgh Castle, The Kelpies, The Falkirk Wheel and the Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC).

The team will be joined on stand H400 by 11 stand partners; Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre, Edinburgh First, The University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Fairmont St Andrews, Fife Business Tourism Group, Convention Edinburgh, National Museums Scotland, Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre, The Kingsmills Hotel, Trump Turnberry, a Luxury Collection Resort and VisitAberdeenshire.

Further buyer engagement activity will include cocktails and canapés at 4pm on 14th and 15th June, as well as hosting an exclusive invitation only Scottish Afternoon Tea for clients on 15th June where they can hear all of the latest developments from across the country.  

In addition, VisitScotland will be hosting a group of 11 German buyers at The Meetings Show from top names including VOSS+FISCHER, K.I.T. Group GmbH and DER Touristik & Incentive, followed by a hosted FAM trip back in Scotland, incorporating visits to Edinburgh and East Lothian.  

Neil Brownlee, Head of Business Events at VisitScotland, who also sits on the Meetings Show Advisory Board which is responsible for directing the show’s strategy, content and growth commented; “We are putting a lot of investment in the Meetings Show this year with a larger stand and lots of activities planned for current and potential clients. It is a great show and a great platform for highlighting everything Scotland has to offer.”  

Finally, VisitScotland will be sponsoring Rendezvous at The Meetings Show which is taking place Tuesday 14th June at Stamford Bridge organised by Meetings Professionals International (MPI).  This popular industry networking event is held exclusively for attendees of The Meetings Show and MPI members with proceeds from ticket sales going to the MPI Foundation in Europe which gives back to MPI members in the form of education grants and scholarships.
