The two conferences will see a total of 625 delegates come to the region – contributing an estimated £150k to the local economy.
The news comes as the Convention Bureau is preparing to attend The Meetings Show 2016 with stand partners including:
• Sage Gateshead
• Newcastle Crowne Plaza – Stephenson Quarter
• Sunderland Association Football Club
• Hilton Newcastle Gateshead
• Newcastle United Football Club
• Metro Radio Arena
Paul Szomoru, Head of Business Tourism at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, said: “We attend a range of key national and international trade shows every year and The Meetings Show is a significant date in our calendar. Events such as this give us the opportunity to meet, develop and continue conversations with national and international event organisers.
“We have seen huge success from previous years with the Building Society Association and Royal Collage of Midwives both being great examples of this.
“The next few years are looking exciting for NewcastleGateshead with some high profile academic conferences coming to the region. We look to build on this at The Meetings Show by demonstrating the outstanding offer we have here in NewcastleGateshead.” The Meetings Show is a meetings and events exhibition, organised by meeting professionals for meeting professionals, taking place at London Olympia on 14-16 June.
