VisitScotland Business Events' promotional activity made to measure at ibtm world

VisitScotland Business Events will showcase the best of Scottish design with a tweed pop-up experience on its stand at IBTM World this year as part of its promotion of Scottish business tourism at the Barcelona event.
Scotland’s oldest bespoke tailors, Stewart Christie & Co, are providing the tweed and creative flair, and it is their famous jackets that delegates visiting the Scotland stand can try on.


As part of Scotland’s Year of Innovation, Architecture & Design, Stewart Christie & Co were specially chosen to reflect Scotland’s design heritage, combining local fabrics with modern design and Scottish manufacturing.  Delegates will also be able to enter a competition to win a luxury break to Scotland to be fitted for a tweed jacket in their Edinburgh store.  

Amanda Ferguson, Senior Marketing Manager, UK & Europe said: “It was important for us to mark the Year of Innovation, Architecture & Design with a collaboration with Scotland’s most famous tailor, Stewart Christie & Co.  Uniquely Scottish, tweed represents the best of both worlds- our heritage but also our forward thinking modern approach to business.  We hope this year’s stand reflects our business events offering which is a bespoke fit whatever the event size, shape or form.”  

Alongside the tweed jackets, VisitScotland is working with VisitEngland and London & Partners to promote their on-stand activity on Day 2 of IBTM World.  Kicking off at 17.00 celebrations for their party, ‘Tweed, Tech & a Tipple’ will attract event planners to all three stands which will feature interactive activities, competitions and hospitality.  

Access to Scotland via road, rail and air will be the subject of a press briefing by the VisitScotland Business Events on Tuesday 29th November at 16.30. There will also be updates from major investment projects including the Gleneagles refurbishment and the new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.  

On Wednesday 30th November the team will be encouraging delegates to join in their celebrations for St Andrew’s Day and the tweed pop up experience will kick off.
