    VisitScotland

VisitScotland is the national tourism organisation for Scotland. A very important player within the organisation is the Business Tourism Unit. This has its own website, www.conventionscotland.com with which every event organiser anywhere in the world should become familiar.

It ranges over all kinds of venues for all kinds of events and also gives some insight into the remarkably wide range of landscapes and facilities in a comparatively small country.

Visit Scotland’s Business Tourism Unit is a one-stop source of information on MICE services and facilities.

    Welcome to Yorkshire

Yorkshire - the perfect host for the perfect event.
From an ancient castle on a hillside to an urban hotel or sports ground, Yorkshire has a wealth of inspiring conference venues to offer event organisers.

The UK’s largest county boasts more than 440 venues set against a magnificent mix of scenery – from the backdrop of Yorkshire’s rugged coastline or seaside resorts to its rolling hills or buzzing cities.

Yorkshire’s offering is proving to be a hit as meetings and events across the county have grown dramatically in recent years. In 2010 Yorkshire hosted an average of 450 events, a 5% increase for the region from 2009.

The historic Rudding Park near Harrogate, a Grade 1 listed Regency Country House, is an award-winning business and leisure resort consistently voted no.1 hotel in the UK on Trip Advisor.

The Devonshire Arms Country House Hotel is set in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside and offers five different conference options depending on requirements and budget.

Castle Howard near York is not only a magical country house and star of TV series ‘Brideshead Revisited’, it also has state-of-the-art business and conference resources.

The Racecourse at York is one of Europe’s premier tracks with a reputation as a corporate event venue to match. And then there’s Harrogate International Centre, a colossal purpose-built conference facility, ideal for large exhibitions and events.

Yorkshire offers an unlimited choice of activities suitable for all skill levels. Delegates can take to the slopes at Xscape in Castleford to try ski-ing on the indoor snow slope. There’s team building at Elland Road, home of Leeds United Football Club, or the chance to create your own TV programme at Bradford’s National Media Museum. Alea Leeds is a vibrant entertainment venue that can cater for any sort of event, from a meeting of 10 people to a banquet for 200.

The North York Moors and Heritage coastline provide an exhilarating setting for events such as kayaking, surfing, climbing, off-roading or golf.
Hull University has one of the most distinctive and diverse meeting facilities in the region with a wide range of seminar rooms, lecture theatres and spaces available throughout the business school, all with flexible layouts.

Sheffield also offers an unusual choice of incentive opportunities such as a night golf package where guests roam the picturesque grounds of Beauchief Abbey with its lit fairway and luminous balls. More adventurous delegates can take a 45-metre leap at Magna Science Adventure Centre where there’s the Awesome Foursome package which combines bungee jump, powerfan, abseil and zip wire. Or groups can thrash it out playing mini ice hockey or gladiator style competitions.
Historic York entrances everyone who visits with its narrow cobbled streets and world famous gothic Minster – the largest in Northern Europe.
