Scottish foodies invited to dine with world-famous Roux culinary dynasty

Emily Roux to host dinner and cookery demonstration at Scottish restaurant

The grand-daughter of one of the world’s most famous chefs will share her own recipe for success with a special dinner and cookery demonstration at her family’s leading Scottish restaurant.  
Emily Roux will be joined by her grandfather, Albert Roux, OBE, KFO, for the event at the Albert and Michel Roux Jr Restaurant at Crossbasket Castle, near Glasgow, next week.

Cornhill Castle’s Grand Ballroom opens with exclusive Wedding Day Event

Cornhill Castle in Biggar, Lanarkshire opens the doors to its Grand Ballroom, at an exclusive event on the 12th February 2017. The popular wedding venue’s latest addition is part of a massive £750,000 refurbishment programme by the Manorview Group. Work started on the Castle on the Clyde in January and a quick turnaround means the transformation will be revealed in early February.

AECC maintain Gold standard

Further to a recent audit by Green Tourism, Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) have once again been awarded Gold status by the certification body, having first achieved gold status in December 2012.   
AECC have maintained the standard through two subsequent reassessments for the sustainable practises employed at the venue and are the only conference venue in the North of Scotland to hold the Gold award from Green Tourism.

VisitAberdeenshire Chief Executive to retire

VisitAberdeenshire announced last week, that its chief executive will retire in early 2017.
Steve Harris, who will be 61 in February,   will retire at the end of March following more than four years in the role. 
Colin Crosby, chairman of VisitAberdeenshire says,  “Steve Harris was originally appointed to the role of chief executive of VisitAberdeen in 2012 and he successfully completed the creation of VisitAberdeenshire earlier in 2016.

Record results for The Royal Yacht BRITANNIA

The Royal Yacht BRITANNIA

The Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith, Edinburgh, is reporting its most successful year since opening 18 years ago, ending 2016 with a grand total of 348,272 visitors which represents 12.7% growth on the previous year.

There has in fact been a period of continuous growth at Britannia in recent years, resulting in a massive increase of 41.7% since 2010. Britannia is renowned for providing the highest standards of visitor experience.
