Colombia moves up three places in ICCA rankings

Colombia has moved up three places in the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) 2012 Country Rankings. The country sits in 29th place with 138 qualifying meetings compared to 2011 when it held 32nd place with 113 qualifying meetings.
Colombia’s capital, Bogota, featured in 42nd place with 50 meetings in ICCA’s city rankings, the city of Cartagena followed closely behind in 56th place with 40 meetings and Medellin in 85th place with 28 meetings. ICCA’s international association meetings tables are published every year. Meetings that are included in the tables are held on a regular basis, have at least 50 delegates and rotate between at least three countries.

Joburg jumps 92 places in ICCA rankings

The Joburg Tourism’s Convention Bureau team is celebrating the city’s momentous climb in the ICCA rankings, by improving its place by an astonishing 92 places since 2012!
“We’re thrilled to announce that in this year’s ICCA rankings Joburg is ranked 142nd in the world and is placed third in Africa. We were ranked at 234 last year, so this is excellent news for us,” says Phelisa Mangcu, Acting CEO, Joburg Tourism.

Sydney scores top spot as Australia's best for business conferences

Sydney continues to boost its enviable reputation as the first place in Australia to do business, topping the country’s results in the International Congress and Convention Association’s (ICCA) Country and City Rankings Report.
The harbour city ranked number one in Australia for conferences and congresses and number 24 worldwide, a rise of ten places from last year. Sydney was also ranked sixth in the Asia-Pacific region, with the number of meetings held in the city rising from 57 in 2011 to 86 in 2012.
