South African Tourism to gain from new SAA direct flight to China 

The Minister of Tourism, Mr Marthinus van Schalkwyk, on an official visit to China, was part of the initiative that sees South African Airways (SAA) proudly launching its first ever non-stop flight to China this week. The inaugural flight landed in Bejing on 31 January 2012.

Chicago restaurant week returns with dishes from Chicago's most notable and freshest faces

Chicago Restaurant Week, produced by the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau (CCTB), returns for its 5th annual culinary celebration featuring value pricing at more than 230 restaurants throughout the Chicago area, including nearly 80 new participating restaurants and tasty special events.
Supported by the CCTB’s restaurant members, the 10-day dining festival runs from 17th to 26th February and will feature prix fixe menus starting at US$22 (approx. £14) for lunch and US$33/US$44 (approx. £21/£28) for dinner, excluding beverages, tax and gratuity.

Five days to go before international sports royalty descend on London for Laureus World Sports Awards

With only five days to go, the venue preparations to host the Laureus World Sports Awards are now running continuously. Temporary structures have been erected on the ‘Green’ outside of Central Hall Westminster and the red carpet will welcome celebrity guests on the night of Monday, the 6th February.

Sports Heritage Network inaugural conference to be held at Lord's Cricket Ground

Lord’s Cricket Ground is hosting the first Sports Heritage Network (SHN) conference: “Moving the Goalposts:  Sport in Transition, 2012” on Thursday 19th April 2012.
The all-day conference will examine contemporary and historical issues in sport and represents a fantastic event for fans, students and people who work in sport, in the build up to the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
