Hampden is a winner with events and conference organisers

Almost 150 corporate guests were given the chance to meet some of Scotland’s finest food suppliers during a tour of the conference and events facilities at Hampden Park Stadium in Glasgow.
Scotland’s National Stadium will be hosting football matches during this year’s London Olympics as well as events in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. While the stadium is best known for football matches and pop concerts, it is also one of Scotland’s most flexible venues, able to serve a range of purposes from meetings, conferences and events through to weddings, gala dinners and product launches for up to 1000 people.

Business events deliver huge economic benefits to NSW

Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris, today announced that the NSW economy would get an injection of $211 million from 59 business events to take place in Sydney between now and the end of the year.
And this month alone will see $40 million in economic value for NSW with nine international business events taking place in Sydney.

International medical conference at the ICC to bring £1.82m to Birmingham

The International Convention Centre Birmingham has secured another major European conference, set to boost the city’s economy by an estimated £1.82 million.
The European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) will hold their 21st annual congress at the venue from the 25th – 29th May, 2013. The five day event, which will use nearly all of the venue’s conference halls, is expected to attract around 1,000 delegates from across Europe.

Next generation of local athletes to make their mark on Olympic venues

The Aquatics Centre and The Copper Box will play host to two community events this Spring as a taste of things to come after the 2012 Games.
More than 2,500 people from the Olympic Host Boroughs will attend the two events in March and April either as participants or spectators as the Olympic Park Legacy Company gives local people the opportunity to use the venues before the Olympians and Paralympians take centre stage.

Barbican event clients to be offered presentation training and rehearsal time

As part of a growing number of additional services, the Barbican is offering speaker training and rehearsal time to event organisers.  The sessions include the expertise of a voice and presentation coach from the Barbican’s in house team as well as time in the actual meeting room booked for their event.
