Brighton gets Lib Dem vote twice in a row

The business is a significant win for VisitBrighton’s convention bureau, which has been instrumental in brokering the deal together with partner businesses, including the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel.
Carla Rollin, Director of Business Development, Hilton Brighton Metropole, says: "To have been selected for both the autumn and now the spring Liberal Democrat conference is testament to Brighton as a first rate event destination and the superb guest experience available at hotels such as Hilton Brighton Metropole. It's a huge boost for the city and is thanks in part to a close collaboration with VisitBrighton in building strong relationships and demonstrating flexibility."
Over 2,500 delegates are expected to attend the spring Conference bringing an estimated £2m of economic benefit to the city.
Julia Gallagher, VisitBrighton’s Convention Bureau Manager, says: "It's great to know that, aside from the nitty gritty of policy making and debate, delegates enjoy coming to Brighton. It's been a challenging year for many businesses because of the long spell of appalling weather but ongoing refurbishment programmes and investment in the city’s venues has helped to keep business trade buoyant. We have a full programme of cultural and creative activities to compliment our business offering and we know this all helps to make Brighton an attractive proposition."
VisitBrighton represents partner businesses across the city, including the recently renovated Brighton Centre – the largest purpose built conference centre in the south of England. Other meeting venues include the historic Dome complex and the spacious, newly built Amex Community Stadium.
As well as venue finding, VisitBrighton convention bureau provides a free accommodation booking service for delegates and can assist with finding space for fringe and social events. Delegates also receive a discount card giving them access to exclusive deals at eateries and shops during their time in the city.
