A new addition to The Quays, groups can now visit one of the world’s most famous football stadiums, Old Trafford, and see it through the eyes of the greats at the Manchester United Museum & Tour. Eat and drink at the Red Café or get up close and personal on a tour with one of the club’s Legends. Groups are offered free car or coach parking and a discounted rate on tours (for groups of 15+).
Another exciting new offering for groups is the opportunity to see behind the scenes and delve into the fascinating world of broadcasting on a tour of the BBC at MediaCityUK. Visitors will learn all about the programmes made by the BBC in the north, such as Match of the Day, Dragon’s Den and Blue Peter, to name a few, and even have the chance to star in their very own television production in the interactive studio. A special CBBC interactive tour is also available for children aged between 6 and 11 years old. Booking details below.
Groups can also experience the award-winning IWM North, part of Imperial War Museums, as it marks its first decade with a series of new tours. Inspired by the 10@10: A Decade of Surprising Stories display, which reveals ten remarkable stories of people caught up in conflict, these new tours explore the experiences of those featured in the display (charges apply, pre-booking essential). Admission to IWM North, all exhibitions and coach parking is free for pre-booked groups, with a range of themed tours and handling sessions available.
The Lowry arts complex is a creative and exciting, flagship venue that entertains with the very best in visual art and performance. Groups are offered ticket discounts on theatre bookings and special catering, as well as regular mailings with programme information and priority booking periods.
Be transported back in time at the newly restored Ordsall Hall, Salford’s Grade I listed Tudor manor house. Enjoy recreated room settings, beautifully landscaped gardens, hands-on family friendly exhibitions and maybe even a few ghostly goings-on! Guided tours and exclusive evening visits can be arranged for group parties.
Those who fancy taking in the stunning local scenery can enjoy the leisurely boat ride along Manchester’s historic ship canal with Mersey Ferries, with lively and informative commentary along the route.
Indulge in some retail therapy at Lowry Outlet Mall, Manchester’s only outlet, with six plaza restaurants and over 80 stores offering up to 60% off High Street RRP prices all year round. Coach Drivers and Group Organisers each get a £10 Gift Card, and all the Group party each receive a discount voucher booklet to spend in a wide range of stores. Senior Screenings are available at Vue Cinema every Monday morning for just £3.05 per person! The cost includes refreshments prior to watching the film.
For a different experience of the waterfront, groups can take part in a variety of activities at the state-of-the-art Salford Watersports Centre, from sailing and windsurfing to kayaking and canoeing, and even indoor climbing!
