Alcanada offers best of all worlds with Twilight Package

Mallorca’s Club de Golf Alcanada has moved to ensure golfers can enjoy a great course in perfect temperatures at a bargain price with its Twilight Package – with reduced green fees of more than 30 per cent.

Visitors to the club can take advantage of the eye-catching discount to play one of the top courses in the Balearic Islands at a fraction of the cost, with 18 holes of golf available for only €80 after five o’clock in the afternoon.

Mallorca has lived up to its proud tag of being the “Sunshine Island” this summer with daily temperatures of around 30°C in the shade, while an improved exchange rate against the euro means there has never been a better time to play golf on the island for UK golfers.

Alcanada has enjoyed a momentous year to date and has become of the must-play venues for golfers heading to Mallorca.

After hosting the prestigious Copa de S.M el Rey tournament – regarded as Spanish golf’s amateur championship – in March, the club was named best golf course in Europe for the fourth year in a row by the readers of top German magazine Golf Journal, while Alcanada has boosted its facilities by fitting a new GPS system to its buggy fleet and FlightScope launch monitor on its driving range.

Kristoff Both, director of golf at Club de Golf Alcanada, said: “Mallorca has the perfect climate for golf and our twilight offer means golfers can enjoy the best of all worlds.

“Golf in the evening is one of the best times to play and, with our location next to the Mediterranean, we enjoy a light sea breeze which means that the temperature is never too hot.

Situated in the north region of Mallorca in a breathtaking location overlooking the Bay of Alcudia, Alcanada’s 18-hole championship course was designed by award-winning golf architect Robert Trent Jones Jnr and opened in 2003.

Adjacent to the Mediterranean, the course blends naturally into the typical Mallorcan terrain and takes its name from an island with a lighthouse which is situated just off the shore, which can be seen from most of the holes.

Magnificent mountain and sea views and a mixture of pine and olive groves provide the splendid setting for a round at Alcanada and, despite its tender years, the course is already recognised by the golf industry as one of the finest venues in Spain and Europe and is a founder member of The Leading Golf Courses of Spain collection.

The club also boasts a centuries-old Mallorca clubhouse which offers guests the opportunity to sample regional specialities in its first-class dining facilities on its sun-baked terrace. A comprehensive golf academy including a spacious short game area and covered driving range are also available.
