BP’s “Spirit of the Gulf” to add a dash of spice and a hint of Jazz at London 2012 Olympic Games
The Louisiana Office of Tourism has announced that two of the State’s top chefs will be flying to London to cook for Team USA. As part of BP’s ongoing partnership with the United States Olympic Committee, BP will host the “Spirit of the Gulf,” a series of events for Team USA during the London 2012 Olympic Games.More than 1,000 people each day will be encouraged to visit the Gulf Coast, sample the world’s freshest and best-tasting seafood and experience the Gulf’s unique culture and distinctive attractions. Eight of the best chefs from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida are preparing the freshest seafood the Gulf has to offer for U.S. Olympians, their families and visitors to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Michael Sichel, Executive Chef at Galatoire’s will be in London from the 26th July to the 5th August 2012
Chef Michael Sichel of Galatoire’s is dishing up a taste of New Orleans. As executive chef of a 107-year-old James Beard Award-winning restaurant, Chef Sichel has spent more than 13 years studying in Provence, France and in notable restaurants nationwide.
John Folse, Chef John Folse & Co. & Restaurant R’evolution will arrive in London on the 7th August and will stay until the 13th August 2012.
Chef John Folse of Chef John Folse & Company is serving classic Cajun cuisine. A 2008 recipient of the Southern Foodways Alliance Lifetime Achievement Award and member of the
Louisiana Chefs’ Hall of Fame, Chef Folse owns multiple award-winning restaurants and is the founder of Chef John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University. Chef Folse’s eight
cookbooks document Louisiana’s culinary history from colonization to the present.
