Riders from across the hospitality sector are raising money for industry charity Hospitality Action and BBC Children in Need. The group are hoping to raise funds for both these worthy causes through a combination of corporate jersey sponsorship and individual contributions.
Joe Stather, member of The Great Hotel Bike Ride Committee said: “The Great Hotel Bike Ride is now in its second year and this year we set ourselves the target to treble the number of riders and double the sponsorship target. With the ride being open to all of our industry colleagues, we were delighted to have had such a large commitment from riders from across the sector. The hotel world is such a collaborative and supportive environment and this challenge definitely reinforces that! It’s a huge motivation to know that our collective blood, sweat and tears will raise money for two such vital charities”.
Jonathan Rigby, Director of Marketing and Fundraising, BBC Children in Need said in support of the ride: “We’re delighted that the 2016 Great Hotel Bike Ride is raising funds for BBC Children in Need. We wish all the cyclists taking part the best of luck, we hope the weather stays fine and the punctures stay away! Good luck!!”
Penny Moore, Chief Executive of Hospitality Action says: “Many thanks to each and every one of the cyclists taking part in this epic challenge! The funds raised will make a tremendous difference to the lives of so many and help make life a little better for those suffering with addiction, bereavement or serious illness amongst others. Everyone at Hospitality Action wishes you well.”
