Center Parcs invests £3.5m in Wi-Fi infrastructure

Center Parcs has invested over £3.5m in upgrading its Wi-Fi and bandwidth across all of its Villages.
With the increased number of devices used by delegates, the rise in social media interactions across multiple platforms at events and the new ways in which content is being delivered digitally, the investment means clients and delegates will now receive a faster, more reliable and free service that has the required bandwidth to allow uninterrupted video streaming.

As a result of the upgrade, each Village’s Wi-Fi bandwidth offering has increased from 100mbps to 400mbps with further capacity to reach 1000mbps if required. The free Wi-Fi service has been extended to all units of accommodation, all central buildings and restaurants so delegates can stay connected throughout their time at Center Parcs.

Philip Coe, Head of Projects and Applications at Center Parcs, says: “Wi-Fi is a key requirement at events and the expectations of a venue’s Wi-Fi infrastructure and bandwidth are increasing all the time. With the rise in social media and the number of devices delegates now bring with them to conferences, not to mention the new ways that digital content is being delivered at events, it was imperative that we upgraded our Wi-Fi infrastructure and bandwidth to be able to offer a faster, more reliable service.

“As part of our investment, over 900 individual internet access points have been installed at each of our Villages to allow a seamless internet browsing experience for clients and delegates. Now, over 2,000 Wi-Fi connections can be simultaneously connected with a seamless browsing experience at each of our sites.”
