Mary Rose Museum unveils stunning new space for business events

Mary Rose Museum event setting
Businesses are invited to give corporate guests a unique experience steeped in history in the stunning surroundings of the south’s newest hospitality venue.
The Mary Rose Museum in the heart of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard made headline news when it re-opened to the public on July 20th – and with it came the unveiling of the Admiral’s Gallery, a corporate venue like no other.

The space allows around 100 guests to view the museum’s collection before being seated for a dinner or event with unparalleled views of the conserved hull of Henry VIII’s flagship, surrounded by some of her finest and unique artefacts.

The Admiral’s Gallery can also welcome around 110 guests for a theatre-style presentation on a state-of-the art big screen, or 150 guests for a standing event.

All evening bookings allow exclusive access to the Mary Rose Museum, and guests can easily move on to the venue’s Bridge Balcony where they can enjoy a drink and spectacular views across the harbour.

From this vantage point they will be able to see historic ships, including Lord Nelson’s flagship HMS Victory, along with any visiting warships – perhaps while watching the sun set.

Paul Griffiths, Head of Operations at the Mary Rose Museum, said: “Not only are we looking forward to the museum being once again fully open to the public, we are also delighted to be able to offer businesses full use of its stunning facilities.

“There simply is no other venue like the Admiral’s Gallery for corporate events. We are extremely proud to be able to offer cutting-edge audio-visual and conferencing facilities and exceptional standards of catering and service, surrounded by a unique sense of history and occasion.

“We look forward to welcoming businesses who will be proud to become part of the Mary Rose story.”

The Mary Rose Museum has selected catering partners to offer a range of corporate packages, with drinks receptions starting at just £58 a head and dinner packages from around £110 per person.

The museum’s events team works closely with event bookers and organisers to ensure that everything is perfect, from the first welcome drink until the last guest has left.

The museum also offers use of its Wardroom Suite, a fully-equipped function room which can seat up to 18 guests for business lunches, meetings and conferences.

One-day delegate packages are available which include a dedicated event manager, free parking, full multimedia facilities, complimentary wi-fi and a buffet lunch.

The Wardroom can be used throughout the day as well as for evening sessions, while the Admiral’s Gallery is open for events after 6pm.
