Yesterday, 14th July, independent catering company Peyton Events (spearheaded by restaurateur and Great British Menu judge Oliver Peyton) hosted an exclusive corporate reception and private viewing of the new exhibition Real to Reel: A Century of War Movies at the Imperial War Museum (IWM) London. Real to Reel: A Century of War Movies goes behind the scenes of some of the most iconic war films of the last 100 years including The Dam Busters, Casablanca, Saving Private Ryan, Atonement and War Horse.

The engaging evening offered guests the opportunity to view the stunning spaces available for hire and experience the new immersive exhibition which comprises more than 200 items, including a unique combination of film clips, costumes, props, scripts, sketches and designs alongside original archival material and artefacts from IWM’s collections.

The movie themed reception was attended by 100 event professional including representatives from Microsoft, Vodafone, Barclays and the Red Cross. On arrival guests were led from the Atrium to the third floor balcony boasting fantastic views of exhibits across the lower levels.

Peyton Events served contemporary canapés, drawing inspiration from cinema grazing bites.  Lamb mini hot dogs with pineapple relish, 30 day aged Devon white park beef and harissa and honey smoked Rother Valley chicken burgers were served. No movie is truly complete without popcorn and Peyton Events produced savoury and sweet twists including olive oil, mozzarella and tomato, goat’s cheese and black pepper, salted caramel and a coffee rich cappuccino. Guests sipped on French 75 and Moscow mule cocktails.

As of today private functions hosted at IWM London can include viewings of the new exhibit Real to Reel: A Century of War Movies as part of the event proceedings, with Peyton Events creating bespoke movie themed eats and cocktails (until January 8th 2017).
