GB Theatre Company to perform As You Like It and Romeo & Juliet

This August (26 & 27), Arundel Castle in West Sussex will play host to two nights of spectacular Shakespeare, performed al fresco in the Collector Earl’s Garden as part of the Arundel Festival.
Picture the scene: Shakespeare’s heart wrenching tragedy Romeo and Juliet played out by a troupe of professional actors in beautiful surroundings, beneath a moonlit sky.

For theatre fans who prefer a good laugh, the GB Theatre Co will also be bringing its adaptation of As You Like It to Arundel Castle during its two-day residency.

The Castle’s outdoor Shakespeare performances, now in their seventh year, are a highlight of the Arundel Festival – and one of the UK’s most unique ways to enjoy the Bard’s work.

Set upon a stage in front of the aptly titled ‘Oberon’s Palace’ in the Collector Earl’s Garden, the summer performances allow visitors to be enchanted by both their surroundings and the theatrical occasion.

Castle Manager Bryan McDonald commented: “We are thrilled to once again be part of the brilliant Arundel Festival. Each year, the GB Theatre Co put on an excellent show in our gardens – and I am sure that this year’s performances will be no exception!”   Tickets for the performances are priced from £16 for children and £26 for adults.

Ticket holders are invited to arrive early and enjoy their picnics in the Castle grounds before the performances commence in The Collector Earl’s Garden.
