Kent Event Centre showcase business success at the KEiBA Awards 2016

KEiBA awards in Kent Event Centre’s Clive Emson Conference Centre.
Kent Event Centre welcomed more than 600 guests to one of the most prestigious events in the county’s events calendar, the Kent Excellence in Business Awards (KEiBA).
On June 23 the dazzling awards, put on by Kent County Council and KM Media Group, were held at the venue’s Clive Emson Conference Centre for the fourth consecutive year.

The KEiBAs, now in their eighth year, recognise and reward business success across Kent, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Employer of the Year and Large Business of the Year.

Hosted by kmfm Drivetime Presenter, Rob Wills, and the station’s News Editor, Nicola Everett, 15 awards were presented to businesses across an array of sectors throughout Kent and Medway.

The event, managed by leading creative agency Pillory Barn, this year saw some key changes to the set – shifting the room layout and stage to create an entirely new look and dramatic first impression.

The impressive illuminated pink and blue room gave guests more space to network, mingle and, post the awards, celebrate on the dancefloor with live music from The Rockpins.

Big winners on the night included medical device manufacturer, Integrated Technologies Ltd (ITL) who took home both the Manufacturing Business of the Year award, and the KEiBA’s flagship category; Large Business of the Year.

Also successful was Ben Towers of digital agency, Towers Design, who claimed the accolade of Young Entrepreneur of the Year, property developer Mark Quinn, of Quinn Estates, who won Entrepreneur of the Year, and property auctioneer Clive Emson, who was overwhelmed with the Outstanding Contribution to Business award.

The winners were announced in a two-part evening, with a three course gala dinner in between – provided by Azra Catering – consisting of a starter of Dungeness crab and smoked haddock cakes and mains of seared breast of corn fed chicken, followed by vanilla crème brulee, all using local produce wherever possible.

Kent Event Centre’s Alison Wallington said: “KEiBA is a very important event to us and we could not have been more delighted to have won the contract to host this years’ ceremony.

“The transformation of the conference centre was fantastic and it looked so impressive on the evening – it’s always a pleasure to work alongside Pillory Barn and this year was no exception.

“We’ve been lucky enough to host the KEiBA awards for four years now and hope this partnership will continue.”
