EVCOM raises over a thousand pounds for industry charity, Meetings Needs, at the Screen Awards  

Meeting Needs
EVCOM, the official association of the Live Event and Visual Communication Industry in the UK, raised £1,333.27 for Meeting Needs through a table draw at the EVCOM Screen Awards. The event welcomed over 350 industry professionals to the Lindley Hall in Westminster on Thursday 28th April. Hosted by comedian Andy Parsons, the awards celebrated the very best of social, corporate and online brand screen content.

Kindly donated by FRHI Hotels and Resorts, the prizes for the table draw included: afternoon tea at the Savoy, London and an ovation reward certificate for two nights’ accommodation and breakfast for two at many Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel properties worldwide.  

EVCOM Chairman Steve Garvey said:  “EVCOM members have always supported charities and the success of the Screen Awards draw was no exception. We are delighted to support Meeting Needs because we see multiple benefits for our members. Meeting Needs is highly relevant to the live events and visual communication industry and it enables our members to raise funds for the charity of their choice, including charities they already support. Finally, Meeting Needs activities offer more opportunities to network with other communications professionals. We look forward to building a long-term relationship with Meeting Needs.”  

As an official partner of EVCOM, Meeting Needs will also be working with EVCOM at the Clarion Awards, which promote social inclusion, CSR, sustainable development and ethical debate. The money raised will make a significant difference to those in need. Meeting Needs is the charity of the events industry. Set up by key figures within the UK meetings and events industry, Meeting Needs provides support to children and communities worldwide, raising funds through the event industry to distribute to small charities who may not otherwise have access to funding.
