ICCA names Quito top 10 MICE destination in Latin America

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), has named Quito as one of the top 10 cities in South America for hosting the highest number of international meetings and conventions in 2015.

The ICCA is recognised as the most resilient and dynamic sector of the MICE industry and serves as the global community and knowledge hub for the international association meetings industry.

In 2014, Quito was ranked number 12 and in 2015 the city rose to number ten for having hosted 30 international events of great significance.

The ICCA considers the following criteria for its rankings:
·         Event duration minimum of 3 days.
·         Rotation of the event by other destinations.
·         A quorum of at least 50 international participants.
·         Realisation of the event by professional associations.

Quito’s objective for the coming years is to continue to climb to the top of these rankings by involving both the public and private sector in strategic alliance.
