Designated the ‘Year of British Food’ by the government, the NFU, Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, Red Tractor and Love British Food will be joining forces to coordinate a calendar of events for the Autumn of 2016.
The ‘Celebrate great food from Britain’ campaign starts with the NFU’s Back British Farming Day in September, followed by consumer activity to increase awareness of quality British food including Red Tractor Week, British Food Fortnight, a 12-week on-pack Red Tractor retail promotion, TV and in-store advertising and British Sausage Week in November.
Among the speakers at the launch on April 27 were Defra Environment Secretary, Elizabeth Truss, NFU Deputy President, Minette Batters and Christine Watts, AHDB’s chief communications and market development officer.

Farmers & Fletchers in the City also donate any surplus profits towards providing grants to young farmers who are the next generation who will produce food of the highest quality, contribute to the country’s economic future, generate jobs and take care of the rural landscape.
