Hampton Court Palace gears up for summer music festival

Hampton Court Palace Festival
Historic Royal Palaces and IMG have announced details of the world-renowned artists set to perform at this year’s Hampton Court Palace Festival, which runs 8th – 23rd June 2016 and attracts an audience of 3,000 per show. Originally created by IMG in 1993, the festival will once again take place at the Tudor palace, with IMG returning to produce the entire event following its acquisition of PWR last year..

The line-up for 2016 is one of the best in the Festival's history with the legendary Sir Tom Jones, Welsh classical superstar Katherine Jenkins, ten-time Grammy award winner George Benson, six-time Grammy award winner Van Morrison, powerhouse vocalist Anastacia, King of boogie-woogie Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, multi-platinum selling artist Caro Emerald and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra who will all perform in Henry VIII’s open air courtyard this June.

For centuries, Hampton Court Palace has hosted magnificent events and celebrations that have helped shape Britain’s history. Today, events are hosted in a range of spaces including the historic main courtyard of the Tudor palace. Corporate hospitality and VIP packages are available in the palace’s State Apartments, while those keen to arrive early can enjoy picnics on the palace’s Garden lawn or underneath a luxury waterside gazebo before the show.

Liz Young, Head of Events at Historic Royal Palaces, says: “We are very much looking forward to this year’s Hampton Court Palace Festival, where we will welcome a host of world-renowned artists to perform in the courtyard of our magnificent venue. The festival has been taking place here for decades and we are excited to once again be working with IMG to make sure this year’s event is a truly spectacular occasion.

“Corporate hospitality and VIP packages are available throughout the duration of the event, and as all income raised from activities including venue hire is reinvested in conservation, public access and education activities, all festival-goers will play a part in ensuring Hampton Court Palace is well maintained and open for all to enjoy.”

Stephen Flint Wood, Senior Vice President, IMG, adds: “We are delighted to be working with Historic Royal Palaces again on this fantastic festival with some of the world’s greatest artists. Hampton Court Palace provides a magical and iconic setting and we look forward to welcoming festival-goers this June.”
