Glion Institute of Higher Education organises "Inside the Future of Luxury" Conference

Glion Institute of Higher Education, one of the world's top three institutes of higher education for an international career in hospitality (TNS Global Survey, 2013), is organising the "Inside the Future of Luxury" conference, bringing together global leaders in the luxury industry on Wednesday, February 17th, 2016 in London.

The morning event includes keynote speakers and panel sessions focusing on the future of luxury consumers and luxury experiences, as well as the latest trends in luxury hospitality and the role education plays in shaping the industry's future. 

Glion is the only hospitality management institution to offer a specialisation in Luxury Brand Management at a bachelor degree level. The programme equips students with distinctive skills and attributes that will give them a head-start for careers in the luxury sector. Courses include designing luxury experiences, management of a luxury brand, marketing of luxury goods and services, luxury consumer behaviour and luxury communication and media planning. The Luxury Brand Management specialisation is aligned with Glion's commitment to preparing students for a successful international career in hospitality and luxury management. 

According to Deloitte's 2014 luxury goods report, the world's top 75 luxury brands accounted for US $172.2 billion of aggregate net sales in 2012, and a compound annual growth rate of 14.3% (2010–2012). This strong performance is partly due to enhanced customer service at high-end retailers and financial institutions.

The industry event will start with a keynote speech by James Amos, Marketing Director, Boodles Jewellers, who will discuss "The Future Luxury Customer." The ensuing panel discussion includes Marcus Wareing, Celebrity Chef and 2-Michelin-starred restaurateur; David Lewis, Managing Director of Sunseeker and Isabelle de la Bruyere, Head of Client Advisory and Senior Director, Europe, Middle East, Russia & India of Christie's. The second session on "The Future Luxury Experience" is introduced by celebrated chef Mark Hix and the panelists are Stephen Alden, Board Member of the Lungarno Collection; Lindsay Davis, Global Operations Director, Quintessentially Lifestyle and June Sebley, Director of Partner Programme at Victor. The panel sessions are moderated by Charlotte Keesing, COO of Walpole.
