Following a year of successes, Merlin Events London has posted a 7% annual increase in business revenue across its portfolio, including Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE, London Dungeon and Riverside Rooms.
With some of the capital’s most popular attractions, the last 12 months has seen Merlin Events London host events for corporate to experiential agencies, as well as a 60% increase in private event bookings through the first half of the year.

In April the group opened its fifth, and newest venue, The Riverside Rooms at County Hall. Acting as, both, a standalone venue and alternative dining space to events at the London Dungeon, the new facility maximises packages and becomes the first venue available for daytime events. The addition recorded a successful first six months confirming almost a quarter of enquiries into new business and hosting a range of high-profile events including, James Bond Spectre filming and BPI AGM.

The annual LATEs series at Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE London Aquarium and London Dungeon were also in popular demand. In February a special Valentine’s Day pop-up restaurant was installed at Madame Tussauds, with over 100 guests able to dine among the attractions iconic stars. While SEA LIFE’s night time experience offered romance amongst sea creatures.

From underwater to out of space, Madame Tussauds this year also unveiled the Star Wars experience, where visitors could experience some of the film’s most iconic scenes. The exhibition can be added to events at Madame Tussauds, further strengthening the group’s position as one of the most recognisable event spaces in the capital.

This year also saw Madame Tussauds position itself within the immersive experience market and become one of the first cultural attractions to introduce Virtual Reality. The digital investment further enhances the venue’s offering and responded to the increasing enquiries demand.

Gareth McTiffin marketing and events manager at Merlin Events London, comments: “This year has demonstrated that we are much more than meets the eye. The range of packages and experiences available appeals to a wide audience and our latest technology offering shows we are willing to push the boundaries of events.
