Stereo takes over Brisbane Showground’s airwaves

One of the biggest events on the Australian music calendar is headed to the Brisbane Showgrounds this Sunday.
Stereosonic will bring more than 20,000 music lovers to the iconic Brisbane Showgrounds to hear some of the top electronic music acts in the world.

Arguably the most popular dance music festival in the county, Stereosonic has a stellar line-up including British music group Major Lazer, Swedish duo Galantis and a number of local and international DJs.

The Brisbane Showgrounds is no stranger to hosting popular festivals. Oktoberfest and Listen Out were both held in spring, while the summer of music will officially kick off on Sunday with Stereosonic followed by St Jerome’s Laneway Festival in February.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said the showgrounds is one of the nation’s top music venues.

“Thanks to our inner city location and mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, we can provide the perfect backdrop for some of the best festivals in the country,” Mr Coyle said.

“We are happy to continue our partnership with Stereosonic who will be returning to the Brisbane Showgrounds for their sixth year, while St Jerome’s Laneway Festival has been held here since 2011.

“It’s a testament to our venue and staff that these world class events continue to come back year after year.”

The 22 hectare Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site.
