Spain partnering with MATKA Nordic Travel Fair in 2016

The all time favourite travel destination of Finns, Spain, will showcase its numerous travel destinations, versatile culture, intriguing cuisine and long traditions at Messukeskus Helsinki 21-24 January 2016. The partner country of MATKA Nordic Travel Fair wants to introduce Finnish travellers to the less familiar destinations of Spain.

Spain oozes modern lifestyle combined with history and traditions. The versatile nature of the country ensures a constant flow of tourists every year.

– Spain has plenty to offer to all travellers, families, young adults and seniors. It offers low budget experiences and luxury. Spain is filled with contrasts and endless possibilities, everything one could wish for, summarises Communications Manager Irene Pérez Molina from the Spanish Tourist Office in Helsinki.

Partner country is one of the most important partners of the event and visible in different instances and channels already months before the actual event. During the event Spain will be displayed in many ways, for example, in the programme of the main stage.

"Our aim is to get visibility for Spain and to remind Finnish travellers of our existence. We hope that Finns will get to know some of the more unknown parts of our beautiful country. Sure, we have sun and beaches but inland Spain also offers outstanding views, nature, culture and gastronomy," Perez Molina lists.

Spain has been one of the top destinations for Finns for years, and continues to attract. Finnish tourists are also very well liked in Spain.

– Finns love Spain and the feeling is mutual! Finnish travellers are loyal: if they like a destination, they will return. The number of Finnish tourists in Spain is constantly increasing, rejoices Perez Molina.

Next January marks the 30th anniversary of MATKA Nordic Travel Fair. To honour this occasion special programme is organised looking both into the past of the event and to the future of travelling.

– We are proud to have Spain as our partner on our 30th anniversary. Spain is and has for years been one of the number one destinations for Finnish travellers so it makes perfect sense to celebrate this special occasion in cooperation with Spain, states Sales Manager Marco Simonen from MATKA Fair.
