Resort launches new Big Kids at Work corporate package to help delegates embrace their inner childUnlimited energy, wild imagination and no inhibitions - childhood is undoubtedly a time of inspiration, creativity and no pressure, deadlines or workloads! So this autumn, Alton Towers Resort is swapping midday meetings for midnight feasts and taking it back to basics with their newest delegate package - Big Kids at Work.
Unlike grown-ups in the workplace, kids have fewer fears and inhibitions when it comes to new challenges and a vivid imagination allowing for more creativity - a key attribute in modern business. Through utilising the Resorts’ fun facilities, Alton Towers hopes to bring the inner child out of delegates and get their creative juices flowing.
As Laura Batt, Mackenzie Cohen, Dan Grome and Aaron Lee report in their thesis ‘How does a childlike mind affect creativity’,* the childlike mind seems to augment creativity, open-mindedness and playfulness, preventing stagnation in creative enterprises, and without these qualities some creative longevity is lost. With this in mind, Alton Towers Resort want to take delegates out of the boardroom and back to their childhood just for the day, to maximize their creative potential and encourage them to work together as a team, whilst enjoying some healthy competition away from the stresses and pressures of their everyday workplace.
To shake off those inhibitions delegates will spend the day soaring through the trees on the new Enchanted Forest Tree Top Quest high ropes course, slipping and sliding around the Waterpark, and challenging the boss to a round of Extraordinary Golf. Following an action packed day at the Resort delegates can settle down for a sleepover in one of Alton Towers’ themed rooms from Sonic the Hedgehog to Peter Rabbit, where they can tuck into some delicious Alton Towers sweet treats, before sleeping like a baby all set for a new day.
To celebrate the launch of the new package, Alton Towers Resort has launched a social media competition, for one lucky team of 10 to win the Big Kids at Work package. To be in with a chance of winning the prize, entrants simply need to tweet a photo showing why they are a big kid at work, whether it be a desk top cuddly toy, a secret stash of sweets, or rounders on their lunchbreak with the #BigKidsAtWork hashtag to @ATConferences. The winner will be announced on 16th December 2015 via twitter.
The ‘Big Kids at work’ package costs £155 and includes one nights’ accommodation at The Alton Towers Hotel in a Moon Voyage themed room with breakfast. The following add-ons are available:
• Theme Park tickets - £23 per person
• Access to the Waterpark - £12 per person
• Extraordinary Golf - £3 per person for 9 holes
Tickets to the Enchanted Forest Tree Top Quest and an evening dinner can be added on request. The rate is available for midweek bookings outside of school holidays, for a maximum of 50 rooms.
