Newly launched Jerusalem Conventions and Visitors Bureau proudly welcomes INCON and the worldwide conference industry leaders

INCON, the partnership of the world’s leading conference and event companies will meet in Jerusalem from 7-9 November for its Board meeting and Industry seminar. The meeting will gather a broad group of key stakeholders from the Jerusalem meetings industry to discuss ways to build joint strategies to position Jerusalem as a leading international meetings destination. INCON teamed up with INCON’s preferred supplier, the Jerusalem Convention Bureau and INCON’s local partner Ortra to organise the meeting.

Inge Hanser, INCON Co-Chair and Managing Director of CPO Hanser Service, commented “the INCON industry seminar is bringing together leading Professional Conference Organisers and the local meetings industry to tackle innovative concepts in Meetings Management – in technology, medicine and winning future business.  It will be a Summit merging established operators with fresh newcomers to blend ideas and experience to create current and more relevant practice.”

Ilanit Melchior, Director of Tourism for the Jerusalem Development Authority, explained "Jerusalem is delighted to host INCON and honored to be chosen as a preferred supplier by the leaders of the conference and convention industry. We have always known of the special potential of Jerusalem as a conference destination - as we have seen with hundreds of conferences taking place each year - on such varied topics as the Space Conference earlier this month, and the Christian Tabernacles Festival before that - but with the launch now of the Jerusalem Conventions and Visitors Bureau we are able to streamline our efforts to attract large scale conventions and conferences, offering financial incentives as well as logistical support. INCON is for us a natural partner, and we greatly look forward to working with them.”

The seminar includes expert presentations, a moderated round-table and panel discussions. Senior level speakers from Israel and as far afield as Australia will debate with well known local academics, Prof. Zion Ben-Rafael, Founder of the World Congress on Controversies in Ob/Gyn and infertility (COGI); Prof. Raanan Shamir, President Elect of The European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) and Dr. Avrahamm Rivkind from the Emergency Medicine & Shock Trauma Unit of Israel’s Hadassah Medical Center. Stefano Remiddi of AIM Group International will bring the PCO’s perspective and the exciting new developments in medical meetings.

Robin Lokerman, MCI Group President and Dean of INCON commented: “We have assembled a very diverse panel of meeting industry experts to debate the changes taking place in our industry and how Jerusalem can position itself.  It will be a very interesting afternoon and we look forward to a successful outcome for INCON’s strategic partner the Jerusalem Convention Bureau.”

Since its launch earlier this year, the JCVB’s professional staff is working together with partners across Jerusalem to both attract new conferences and conventions as well as ensure the highest level of services to international and local conferences taking place in Jerusalem. The international outreach has already begun, including a recent delegation of Jerusalem Development Authority officials to the ReJuvenate Marketplace conference in Dallas, Texas, which is one of the largest gatherings of faith-based conference organizers.
