Honouring National Chocolate Week (12-18 October), the Southwark supper club menu will demonstrate how chocolate can be a star ingredient in savoury dishes as well as in sweet.
Created by Southwark Cathedral’s partner caterer Elior, the menu includes a glass of wine on arrival followed by:
• Grue de cacao smoked wild halibut, pickled walnut and maple puree, dressed curly endive
• Poached and roasted fillet of Venison, Iberico Bellota, sautéed sprout tops, juniper and Mababu chocolate jus
• Chocolate delice, sea salt caramel and popcorn ice cream
Pierre Hermenault, operations manager for Elior said: “We are very excited to be joining hundreds of chocolatiers, chocolate shops, hotels and restaurants to be a part of the UK’s biggest celebration of chocolate. Everyone loves a good chocolate dessert, but we want to show that you can also create perfect pairings of chocolate and meat or chocolate and fish. Guests should be prepared to be surprised by just how well they go together and can look forward to a relaxed evening of dining in the Cathedral’s refectory.”
The National Chocolate Week dinner at Southwark Cathedral can be booked for 5.30pm or 8pm.
Tickets are £30 per person including the three-course dinner and glass of wine on arrival and must be booked in advance.
