Best for launch events and for location - Olympia London rated top in major survey

Olympia London has been rated the leading venue across key categories in a major survey involving over 80 event organisers. Independent surveyor and insight specialist, Vivid Interface was commissioned with the research project which pitches the venue against four other leading event spaces.

Location proved to be the key theme, with West London situated Olympia London outperforming both the Business Design Centre and ExCel in this category. Respondents said that location was also the most important criteria out of all for hosting events.

Following Olympia London’s hat trick of wins this year for operations performance at the EN Awards and Association of Event Excellence Awards, high ratings for operations management was a further endorsement of teams’ skills and expertise. Olympia London came out as the highest performer in this category.

Other highlights include suitability for launch events, a category which has grown by 60% year on year at Olympia London. Respondents were asked to rate which UK venue would be best for launching a new trade show, consumer event and a new confex and in each case organisers named Olympia London as best for these.

Geoff Dixon of Vivid Interface said, “The 83 respondents for Olympia London’s venue survey represent the top 15 organiser companies in the UK who together are responsible for hundreds of leading exhibitions and conferences. The quality of respondents was therefore high and the results carry some weight for measuring organiser sentiment.”

Vivid Interface conducted the survey by email and phone to get the results over a period of months. The database was taken from a previous survey carried out in conjunction with Exhibition News in 2012.
