Over 20 events and conference organisers joined a two day trip to experience some of the wide range of conference and events facilities in the area. The familiarisation trip was organised by Warwick Conferences, Warwick Castle, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and Shakespeare’s England in order to showcase this fantastic region.
The itinerary included a fine dining lunch in Scarman, at the University of Warwick, a show-round of Warwick Conferences, Training and Conference Centres, a tour and presentation of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and an after-hours tour and drinks reception at Shakespeare’s Birthplace. This was followed by dinner at Warwick Castle and a private tour of their beautiful State Rooms, Great Hall and the Victorian Royal Weekend Party returning for overnight accommodation at Scarman with breakfast the following morning.
Robin Tjolle, Chief Executive of Shakespeare’s England commented “This was a great opportunity to showcase some of our conference and meeting facilities. Following the success of this visit, we look forward to developing more of these familiarisation trips to encourage even more events and conference organisers to come and see what we have to offer. We have such great meetings and incentive products in our area, along with an easily accessible location and a rich heritage offer that will provide the perfect backdrop to any corporate meeting or event.”
Shakespeare's England is also working with a number of other partners to develop the MICE offer across the region. Leading hotel partners, attractions and local destination management companies are being brought together to entice conference bookers to use the region for meetings and incentive travel. Shakespeare's England has the perfect blend of having an accessible location, exciting MICE activities along with the history and heritage associated with Shakespeare as well as some of the finest hotels in the Midlands.
