The intimate occasion saw 60 guests and clients of TLC and Food by Dish board the newly refurbished boat. Formerly built and owned by Sir Richard Branson, the event was a perfect opportunity for guests to network and explore the Edwardian’s new features, including a sky light, intricate wooden paneling and Bose sound system; all designed with events in mind.
Caterers Food by Dish served a selection of hot and cold canapés including Asian duck terrine, spiced mango relish, coriander and black sesame seeds, and Dorset crab, wasabi mayo, mini sesame cone, mango salsa and coriander cress. For guests taking to the roof deck, warming plates featuring honey and miso salmon skewers, lemongrass and soy sauce, black truffle arancini with black olive mayonnaise, and deep fried cauliflower mac and cheese with whole grain mustard crème fraiche were also served.
Making its journey along the Thames from Butlers Wharf Pier, guests enjoyed views of London’s historic skyline from the roof deck while enjoying refreshing Canard Duchene Brut Rosé, Jamaican Mule cocktails and Rose Lemonade.
Hannah Strong, sales and marketing director at Food by Dish commented: “Catering on moving vessels is always a challenge, we design our menus according to the event and venue, so our culinary creations were designed around the intimacy of The Edwardian. Having to prepare and serve canapés from a prep kitchen meant we chose dishes with minimal ingredients, but still carried a punch.”
Chris Livett, managing director of Thames Luxury Charters added: “We were delighted to host the homecoming cruise on board our beautifully refurnished Edwardian last night. The Edwardian’s luxurious interior, state of the art AV and classical styling compliments first class service levels and scrumptious food created by our catering partner, Food by Dish. We are looking forward to a busy 2015 on board, exceeding our clients’ expectations and needs.”
