The flexible event space boasts panoramic views of London and will hold up to 200 delegates.
The announcement comes as IET London moves into the final months of its £30 million refurbishment. The flagship venue has been closed since July 2013 and the major project aims to position IET London: Savoy Place as a first-class event facility and a ‘Global Engineering Hub ‘to IET members and the engineering and technology community.
Along with the roof terrace, key improvements to the venue will include cutting-edge technology, an enlarged riverside suite, a brand new second lecture theatre, state of the art boardrooms and a ‘sesame lift’ at the front of the building, enabling the stone steps to retract automatically for wheelchair access.
Nigel Fine, Chief Executive and Secretary for the IET, commented: “The opening of the roof terrace gives a fantastic added dimension to the product we will be able to offer meetings and event organisers, and IET members. It marks the beginning of an exciting time – we are confident we have built a first class venue that the industry will enjoy.”
IET London: Savoy Place will open its doors for internal events on October 16, with the venue fully opening on 1 November 2015.
