Royal College of Physicians launches 'Treasures' packages for delegate enrichment

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has announced that it will offer a range of educational added-value exhibitions, talks, consultations and tours for delegates in order to further enrich content for events outside of the conference room.

As an accredited museum, the venue will make use of its rich heritage collections, accumulated over 500 years’ worth of gift-giving by RCP fellows and members. These include, 300 oil paintings, a medical instruments collection and anatomical tables dating back to the 17th century, historical documents, artefacts and ancient manuscripts relating to the history of medicine. This rich collection will be incorporated into the Treasures events itinerary to provide an engaging experience for delegates.

Partnering with the RCP Library and Museum services department at the College, the events team has identified popular themes in keeping with key topics for clients in order to enhance their conferences and meetings.  The new initiative will see the venue showcasing relevant and informative displays, where possible in line with the themes of the conference being held at the venue, giving guided tours of the museum or talks and consultations on various subject matters of choice. The topics include architecture, food and drink, alcohol, historical maps, garden and herbals and chocolate among many others.

RCP Sales and Marketing Manager Natacha Allen says: “We have so much to offer our clients which could really enhance their conferences and meetings here. Many of the delegates who come here are intrigued by the venue and many don’t realise it’s even a museum as well so it’s great that we’re able to connect the two and offer a memorable ‘take home’ experience for our clients.”
