Luxury Hotels Group hosts the Women In Travel (WINiT) Networking Event

Partnership presents major influential event for the industry

On February 23rd, Luxury Hotels Group hosted the WINiT Networking Event at the Montcalm London Marble Arch Hotel.
WINiT is a network of women and men supporting and educating the world on the benefits of promoting women in the travel and event industry. This was WINiT’s first European networking event and allowed supporters and colleagues to mingle and meet the Founder of WINiT, Michelle (Mick) Lee and WINiT Director of Programme Management and Mentor Programme Facilitator, Dawn Repoli.

Luxury Hotels Group, a collection of the finest hotels, outstanding boutique properties and luxurious residences in the world’s most popular destinations and capitals, along with American Airlines, selected the venue and set the tone for a productive and encouraging event. Along with the networking event, a panel was held on February 25th for WINit.

A masterclass in “Leadership and the Power of Pause in the Travel Industry” ran on the main stage. The speakers included Michelle Lee and Dawn Repoli from WINiT, Patricia Gardner, Head of Global Marketing of Tristar Worldwide, Ron Dileo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commerical Officer of Altour International, and Elves Mirad, General Manager, EMEA, American Express Global Business Travel.

The speakers explained that there are currently five generations working in the travel industry, and stressed the importance of staying relevant in an ever-changing industry. They also spoke about the “Power of the Pause,” taking a beat to take stock of your career path, as well as the importance of “structured networking.”

The founder of WINiT, Michelle Lee, was delighted with the success of the networking event and the panel, as well as WINiT’s partnership with Luxury Hotels Group. She said: "WINiT is incredibly honoured to partner with Luxury Hotels Group, our hosts for the reception to celebrate our European launch. Many of the 1600+ members of WINiT are clients of LHG and familiar with their 145+ hotels across Europe.
