Lime Venue Portfolio delivers strong growth

Lime Venue Portfolio, the UK’s largest collection of unique, sporting and cultural venues, grew its meetings, conference and events business by 20% year on year (October 2013 – September 2014).   Sales and marketing initiatives included three ‘Impact Week’ campaigns; these targeted the summer event and Christmas party markets and engaged over 3,159 companies across the UK.

In addition, a creative local agents’ campaign and robust key accounts planning were also key factors in Lime Venue Portfolio’s growth success story.  

2014’s results underline the effectiveness of the portfolio’s industry-leading sales processes which has been further highlighted by an independent benchmarking survey conducted by BDRC Continental. BDRC’s Meetings Benchmark Tracker saw Lime Venue Portfolio secure a quality assessment of 87.4% between September and November 2014; a year on year improvement of 9.9%.     

In addition:
• The central sales office saw an increase in enquiry levels of 56% and confirmed revenue into the portfolio of 27%
• The portfolio’s collection of diary managed venues hosted over 8,000 meetings and events, welcoming more than 820,000 guests through their doors 
• The very crucial Christmas party market delivered 77,000 covers

Demand for the portfolio was further driven through marketing initiatives including headline sponsorship of The Meeting Show UK and a hosted buyer event at the Science Museum which generated over £600,000 worth of event enquiries and resulted in a 22% increase in calls to the central sales team within the period.
