London welcomes a collection of stunning new venues for 2015

London will see a host of dazzling new venues open their doors in 2015. The most eagerly awaited is the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street which will officially open its doors today following a soft opening in December. Level 35 is home to Sky Pod, a contemporary bar offering 360-degree panoramic views of central London while the Darwin Brasserie on level 36 will serve classic European cuisine using seasonal ingredients. Those visiting level 37 will dine at Fenchurch Seafood Bar & Grill which serves oysters, fish and crustacean as well as seasonal game, meat and vegetarian dishes.

In the spring of 2015 D&D London will open the German Gymnasium in Kings Cross. The former home to the German Gymnastics Society in London is being redeveloped to create a ground floor 150-cover brasserie and bar with outdoor terraces, along with a smaller restaurant and private dining area on a mezzanine level.  

In autumn 2015 IET London: Savoy Place is scheduled to reopen after an extensive, two-year £30 million renovation.  The venue’s first major structural renovation in 30 years will allow it to welcome a greater number of delegates. Other major changes include ensuring event spaces make the most of the stunning views of the Thames, an expansion of the Riverside Suite and a brand new lecture theatre.  

A diverse range of new hotels are also opening in 2015. Highlights include Z Hotel Shoreditch, a 111-bedroom design-led conversion of a former office building with rooms arranged over lower ground, ground and three upper floors. The 452-room InterContinental London The O2 which will open in September 2015. The hotel will feature a health spa, numerous restaurants, a club lounge, main bar and a sky bar with 180-degree views over Canary Wharf and the River Thames. InterContinental London The O2 will also house a 32,000+ square foot open-plan hotel ballroom, the largest pillar-free ballroom in Europe.  

Both the Gansevoort Hotel Group and the Art’otel will open their first London properties in the year ahead, also in Shoreditch. The Gansevoort will feature 120 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, rooftop pool and lounge as well as over 6000 square foot of meeting and event space. The Art’otel Shoreditch will be an 18-storey, 350 bedroom contemporary hotel. It will offer a modern top floor restaurant and bar, a relaxing spa as well as a public art gallery with space for video artists and photographic studios.

The number of new hotels coming to market reflects the huge amount of properties being developed in the city, while the wealth of new restaurants underlines the strength and diversity of London’s ever-changing food scene. We are excited about the year ahead and looking forward to sharing the best of what London has to offer to clients from around the world.”  

London’s new restaurants for 2015 include a new take on Spanish street food in Mayfair as the three-Michelin starred Spanish chef David Munoz opens his first restaurant, StreetXO on Great Burlington Street. In Knightsbridge Chai Wu, a modern Chinese restaurant, will open on the fifth floor of Harrods. The menu has been created by Chef Bihu Xie, who specialises in Chinese cookery, and is overseen by Ian Pengelley, Group Executive Chef, one of the UK’s leading experts in Asian cuisine.  

In Soho, Korean-American chef and TV personality Judy Joo is opening her first London restaurant at 15 Kingly Street this January serving Korean street and comfort food as well as sharing platters and side dishes. The popular Soho dim sum eatery, Yauatcha, will also open a long-awaited second venue in 2015 at Broadgate Circle in the City of London.  In the spring,the restauranteurs behind ever popular Bocca Di Lupo will also launch a new dining experience on Shaftesbury Avenue.
